Handle bar extension???

Does anyone know how much extension I can put on my 2008 M8 handle bars before I need to buy extension kits for all the cables???

I was able to put a 2" riser on my M1000. the cables are not to tight but i don,t know if you could go bigger without the extensions.

I was told 3 1/2" so the dealer says up here.

I did 3" on mine and its a twin to yours Linkz. No problems except I removed that little aluminum cover that protects the wires and adjusted a few to get the room.
