Anyone do Hope this past weekend?

The new snow must have smoothened out things.

Ya yesterday I was in Hobo, bad coverage, strange crust layer about a ft down sitting on top of sugar snow, would definitely not recommend...plus the trail in is super whooped. Quartz or Gorman are way better.

Quartz was deep..not much traffic and still dumping. Not alot of traffic up high. Several natural avalanches observed into cabin valley. If you get stuck you're stuck. Hard layer about 6 inches thick. If your track gets below that it doesn't move. Headlight deep most of the day

Was up Silent today. Parked at 21. Long ride in this year but it was buttery smooth from the groom yesterday. Coverage in the alpine was fantastic. Still some powder stashes to be found.
Careful on the road. Switchbacks are icy. Somebody must have filled their pants on the way out. Skid tracks almost over the edge.

Rode Hope Saturday, and Quartz Sunday.

Probed 155 cm at gas drop in Hope. 75cm on top of a nasty sugar layer. Trail was whooped. REALLY whooped. Lots of fresh everywhere. The BIG slide came down. It was extremely large, and had a path 200 ft wide right to the drainage.

Saw some dumdums there climbing big open slopes with people just sitting below watching.

Quartz main routes were pounded out, but there was TONS of fresh about 50 feet from the cabin. All in all bluebird Saturday, and some flurries Sunday.

Great day in Gorman yesterday! Abit of sun with some clouds but still good visibility. Snow was deep and lots of untouched areas all over. Got to enjoy that last 24 hours of snow that fell! Parking lot was abit of a challenge for those with all season tires versus real time winters. Be careful where you go in the parking lot pulling bigger trailers. Give it a walk before driving in unless they have plowed it now. Trail in was good for half way and then got abit whooped out on the back half before alpine. Same on the way back only worse.
Still a few hazards out there under the snow in the alpine.

We rode Gorman today. It definitely could use a lot more snow. The wind set things up pretty good and there has been a lot of holiday traffic. One of our group broke an E or S module, what ever is the weak spot on the Doo. Silent is safer but l guess that's always true.

With all the new snow and avalanche conditions high i was wondering about the westbench trial. I rode it years ago before it was completed just wondering if thier would be enough snow to ride it as i think it would be a safer option for tommorrow. Any information is appreciated.

Westbench will be good to go after this cycle. Around town there is anywhere from 1-2ft of snow. In the hills mostly 3ft of fresh with some areas higher.

Although the conditions seem stable, stay safe. This is a very large cycle and if something moves it will be on a large scale.
