First day cut short, need some help please

hello, went for the first ride of the season today and it was cut short about 1/2 hour in. I was going along and the track locked up and wouldnt move. clutch still spins and engine runs fine but the track doesnt budge. anyone have some ideas what it could be? thanks in advance!
its a 2001 Summit 800

did the chain pile up ,pull chain case cover

Or check the brakes. Either way it is something pretty simple that you'll find pretty quick. Brakes, transmission, clutch. Something is wrong with one of those. Chain you can tell because when it goes you go over the handle bars lol.

Tried to tow it and the track wouldnt move at all lol. thanks! :beer:
and yes i just about went over the bars and broke the brand new windshield! lol

Hope you didn't get hurt. Sounds like the chain piled up to me. We always pull the cover before the first ride, have a look and change the oil. Takes about 1/2 hour, but can really save a long walk home. Learned it the hard way.

Pulled the cover off and the chain was snapped and piled up. Gears are fine and nothing was too serious besides the chain. will go pick one up soon and be ready to go right away!
