A bunch of us are heading up to Whitecourt Feb 22nd. My wife and My Mom are even coming for a ride, This will be a great time for a family ride. Nothing too fast paced, or extereme. Just puttsing around some trails.

If interested in tagging along, Meeting at the Gunn Gas station on highway 43 for 9am. Staging @ Eagle River.

Bring $20 cash for your trail pass if you don't already have one.

I had thought about heading up this weekend, but came home from Ontario yesterday to 10" of fresh at home so I'm gonna play on the lake.

Word of caution: Groomer will be on the Golden triangle heading south between letter O and Whitecourt Saturday 22 Feb in preparation for the cancer riders coming through town on Monday.

Tell us how the trails are and any deep snow to play in!!

Sent from my iPhone using

Everything was hard hard hard packed. Like riding on concrete. Play areas were rutted up from previous times, without much fresh. Only saving grace was the groomer was out. So trails where flat and smooth.

Could you share some more details on this ride? Is there another thread with the details?
Sounds like its for a great cause. I like things like that. Gives meaning and a purpose.

From what I understand, there is a group of women riding across either the country or the province (much like the polaris WOW riders did in the past). Some members of our club are riding up to meet them at Letter O on the triangle and escorting them here. There is a reception for them where people can donate to their cause and then some other members will escort them halfway to Fox Creek on Tuesday where they continue their trek. Reception is at 5:00 at Green Gables restaurant Riders are meeting at 09:00 by the boat launch on the McLeod. Bring fuel and scratchers, it's about a 165km round trip but the trails should be like pavement. That is all I know. If you go to the Whitecourt trailblazers on facebook, there is a little blurb on it. not sure about the website.

The snow is much better as you go farther north towards letter O. Snow on pipeline looked pretty good! Was wishing I was on my sled instead of the groomer!

If you get off the trails there is nice snow to be found.

Thank you Don and Dave N. Guys spent upwards of 22 hours on the groomer in the past 2 days. Not to mention the hour and a half each way to town from Letter O and back out in the morning.
