My wife’s electric start crapped out this weekend. It started to squeal slightly when turning the primary then just stopped working completely. Is it a big job to change it out? Is there something else I should be looking at? Battery seems ok. Thanks

Mine quit over the summer. The motor comes out real easy. A few 10mm nuts and a hose clamp. I disassembled and it looked like hell inside. Water had been getting in. I buffed up the armature where the brushes ride but the biggest problem was the two ground brushes had weak connection to ground. Cleaned that up to and worked great.
