didnt u wanna go diesel ???

if not
well got a hemi :)
good motor
as long as u dont suck in water they last
mpg range from 14-22mpg depends how u drive
lots of power even with big trailer in the back
maintnance is kinda pricy but u could always get ure buddy fossy to work on it
gotta remember 16 spark plugs for example

i only replaced 3 so far and all 3 of them where rig trucks which sucked in water
other than that solid engine

I have a 2006 dodge 3/4 ton quad cab 4x4 with the 5.7 and I havent had any problems with it (90,000 km). The hemi has lots of power, and averages about 15mpg unloaded and 12mpg with a deck and 2 sleds.

is the diesel really worth the extra 10 grand if you are only occasionaly wanting to haul 2 sleds on a deck or a small trailer?

Whats the real mgp? Hwy empty

My 2006 1500 is about 19mpg empty highway, and about 14mpg city, and I have the MDS, the 5.7 in the 2500 doesn't have it. Towing my 7500lb travel trailer is a disappointing 10mpg,.. next year I am switching to a diesel and selling/trading this truck in it only has 33,000km.

I own a 05 1500 with 4"lift and 35's ...Love the truck has plenty of power to pull my toys i have pulled with a chev 2500 6L and i would take hemi over the 6.0 i find more grunt and i average about 19mpg empty and 16 pulling a 2place sled trailer with another sled in the box.

Buy the hemi you wont regret it !

P.S i was also considering a diesel and for the amount of pulling i do its not worth twice the payment at the begining of the month.:beer:

I work with a buddy she has an 04 1500 4wd only gets 12mpg, my son has one and he gets the same. Both have had tune up problems and front end problems. both have said no more Dodges. I love the GM and have one. My son pulled his trailer from Fort St. John B.C. to Old's Alberta and back for $1200. fuel. My 2 cents

Good luck if you ever have to do the injectors, they are not fun. 2005+ are a lot easier.

Depends which engine you get in the '04. Early 04s got the LB7, and later 04s got the LLY (same as '05). I have a LLY in my 04. It would take Dodge revamping EVERYTHING in the interior of their trucks AND the suspension to make me ever consider buying one. I have never had any major trouble with any of my GMC trucks, gas or diesel, and we drive them pretty hard at work. I enjoy some comfort, ergonomics, and features while I am driving long kms. Just my 2cents.
