Dirtbikes on the Iron Horse Trail?

are dirtbikes aloud on the Iron horse trail? anything needed to ride on the trail besides plates? any good camping spots?

Dirtbikes are allowed yes....need to be insured/registered, not sure about the camping we have a lakelot which is pretty much trailside so I've never looked, if you are not worried about ammenities then you can pitch a tent in many areas along the trail. The IHT has a crush rock base so the bikes tend to float quite a bit but there are lots of places you can ride beside the IHT on dirt.

this trail sounds like fun, has anyone riden the whole trail on a weekend? im thinking of finding a campground in between and ride 1 way and then the other. any group riders?

I just looked up their wbsite and I believe they dont allow dirt bikes.

The trail permits OHV's. A dirt bike is a OHV under the act so you actually could unless they change things to say that dirt bikes are banned....

As someone who rides the trail on a regular basis come sledding season, the one big massive issue many of us have, is guys on bikes/quads who think it's a great idea to fishtail all down the trail and rut it up which makes a mess.

More than once the idea has been discussed to drag one of these guys into the bush and beat him mercilessly.

Camp on the otherside of it and i have seen everything thing on it and some that should not this would be the guy with the ford ranger getting water and lots of bikes
