cvt plastic cooling thingy??

Is anyone cutting the plastic cooling guard thingy off xms??I know it says it cools clutch by 25c?Can this be??

Thanks guys after skinning sleds that usually have a dry weight as high as f-150 you wanna remove all unecasary parts. ( some even necasary) I leave it but suitcase is gone! Haha

Was at ckmp last spring and they said leave it on. It works great and improved belt life.
