Can’t find cause of bog

So I have a bog that just doesn’t go away. I took my sled out to the mountains for the first trip this year and it ran good at the start of the day, but as the day went by it kept losing power and almost felt like it was hitting on one cylinder. It did this for 4 days. Runs good at the start and runs terrible come the end of the day. I changed the plugs and fuel filter but didn’t work. Pulled the plugs and they were fouled. While I’m riding I’m constantly leaving a black trail in the snow from exhaust. Here is a video of it from the end of the day.

I agree but strange runs good till end of day? If fuel is bad then should run bad at start of day as well.

True but I had a similar problem last year . Sled ran good all day and on way back out of Hope creek area it stared bogging and engine light flashing and would stop . Start right up again and run good for a couple miles then same thing . Buddy I ride with gave me **** for buying gas from FAST GAS. I bought from shell and no more problems . Stick too the four big fuel company's . The E-tec seams realy fussy on junk gas .

I had shell 91 in it, and tried chevron 94 and it didn’t solve it. Both 0 ethanol

if its at the end of the day is your tank low on fuel check your pickup filter to see where it is sitting the hose might be to short to pickup the last 1-2 inches of fuel on the bottom

Still got over half a tank left at the end of the day

Couple of possibilities, is your air box sealed, does it do that on hardpack, if not start there, second, wouldn’t hurt too check and rule out reeds.

You have your air box out anytime before it started bogging? There’s a small tube that runs up to you air box. It’s easy to not notice and miss it. Did that to mine when I put the screen kit in. It caused a bit of a bog but not as bad as yours

Air box is good and yeah does it on hardpack, checked reeds and they were good but changed anyways.

I had a similar issue when I first got my XM. Ended up being a cracked spark plug insulator. Check through em again, make sure they are indexed properly etc.

Other than that, change the fuel filter just to be sure. 12 bucks at Napa is an easy peace of mind. Stick to shell as other's have mentioned.
