Cam Am maverick steering issue

I have some play in my steering on my 2013 1000 XRS NO powersteering. its in the highlighted area on the photo. i havent pulled the boot yet but i assume there is some sort of ball joint likely under there that is worn out. I cant seem to get the boot off easily but will try again this weekend.

my problem is Brp doesnt offer parts for the steering assembely. Just the entire unit which is very expensive.

does anyone know of aftermarket alteratives to get this fixed up? or i see online there are some electric power steering upgrades for relatively cheap. is that worth it?

That's the rack and pinion and not really rebuildable but if it's just the one side then it's likely not the rack but the inner tie rod end. Pull it out and have it matched by a competent parts guy.

That's the inner tie rod, and should be next to no play

Unfortunately Brando, that's old school, replacing inners

Pretty much all newer vehicles for example, inners are not available ( could take them apart tho) and have to change rack asmb...
Lots of issues with wrecking racks trying to get inners broke free

Check super ATVs replaced mine on my razor with a heavy duty one the stock racks are pretty weak

Could be the bushing in your rack. Stock are notorious for wearing out. Hell quite a few even have slop from the factory. Super Dave's motorcycle use to sell bushings that you could replace. Not sure if they still do or not. Could be worth checking into. They also sold inner tie rod ends as well. Aftermarket racks seem to be hit and miss. Some guys have luck, others not so much.

Well looks like it’s the bushing in the rack. Just moving up and down enough to make the steering a bit sloppy. Maybe I’ll try out an electric assist rack. Cheaper than factory replacement

Bushings on both sides and one worn tie rod. Guess it’s time to do some
Maintenance lol. Only 2000k pretty premature
