I've read about blocking off the exhaust valve hoses on the 900's on a few other forums and decided to try it for myself this past Saturday. I pulled the hoses off, capped the connections and put some bolts into the hoses with the stock clamps. Some people just clamp the hoses and leave them connected. I rode the Fernie area on Saturday and found my sled had a much better low to mid range. I am typically on the throttle pretty good when I ride but yesterday I found I was able to pull off lower speed maneuvers much easier.

Are you talking about the VES hoses? I have a 600 and had a leak in one and found it bogged and had no low end. Curious how the high end is on your machine. Since I fixed the problem my performance had been something else.
