I am wondering what gears to run on a 21 expert turbo?
It will have a dj (ibackshift) clutch kit and a Maptun tune.
I believe the sleds come stock with 21t top 53t bottom but correct me
If I’m wrong

Thanks

i've switched the top sprocket to a 19T on all 3 of the Freeride 165's I've owned with the last two being turbos. all of them had ibackshift clutch kits.

21/53 = 102KMH track speeds at 1-1 shift. If your running a 154 or 165 this is the ideal ratio if your running a tune or close to the Gen5 HP level.
19/53 = 92 KMH track speed at 1-1 shift. This is too low for a 154 or 165. Would work with a 175 tho.

I would keep the stock gearing (21/53) for typical riding. Gear down/up if you have a unique riding condition, i.e. a lot of trail, towing a toboggan, etc.

Shouldnt need to gear down if the tune is making more power.

Id just leave gearing stock and watch your tach. If rpm are where they should be. Gtg

Best is to change to 7 tooth track drivers to get all that HP working.
