So, I'm new to the sledding world...I ride off-road alot in the summer with my kids. I'm looking to buy a sled for next winter and I'm trying to do some research into whats the best bang for my buck. Preferably a mountain sled. My buddy who lives in Vernon says 800cc 2 stroke with a 153" track would be minimum requirements. What do you think? Any suggestions? I'd be looking at spending 5-6g.

Before you buy ANYTHING, do an honest/realistic assessment of what type of riding you are LIKELY to do rather than what you WISH you could do.

Kind of like wishing to date Paris Hilton when Whoopi Goldberg is more what you need.

Good answer!!... mmmmmm whoopiiiii.....
I'm not sure what terrain I'd likely be spending the majority of my time on, probably 50% pedestrian trail riding with the occasional trip to the backcountry slopes, or I might just leave my sled there in Vernon. I usually make 3-4 trips to the Okanagan to ride in the summer around Lavington, Lumby areas as well as west of Kamloops. Since my buddies have property backing right onto crown land, my sledding adventures could prove to be very exciting.
So what would be a decent mid-range sled that combines the best of both worlds? I'm just lurnin'....

Welcome to the site!!!:clap2:
Get out and try a few demos from the dealers of the different makes and models and then buy something in spring or summer when the prices are at there lowest in your spending bracket.
