Anyone running the BCA backpacks?

Does anyone know the difference between the regular and the "turbo" version?

I assume the turbo version will give my sled at least 10 more horsepower! ha

Been looking at these packs for a bit now…

I like the Alpride E2 system.(smaller and lighter than the E1 version)

I like that the BCA pack comes in a straight black version.

Agreed on what’s commented above, the only difference I could find on the BCA website between the “turbo” and non versions is the “sled specific” insulated electronic pocket (for your radio I assume). This also comes with a minor weight penalty… 5.8lbs vs 6.0 (from the website).

I wanted to see/feel one, so tracked one down at a local ski shop. It was the non-turbo version (how shocking 🙄). My first reaction was that the weight surprised me… I’m not sure the advertised weight is accurate? I also didn’t care for all the extra lashings/loops that are specific to backcountry skiing. I will say that I was impressed with the build quality, and that all those extra loops and lashings can be removed if you chose. (I just don’t like the idea of extra crap flapping all over the place).

For $1500, I’m not 100% sold on this pack yet….but its close. (A spring sale might convince me otherwise)

I still feel that a more sled specific pack is out there…
I like the Mammut products…
I liked the old Northface ABS powder guide vest…
Something clean and smooth, small and light…
