only ones I've ever heard anything bad about are S.O.S. beacons, hard to use and poor signal strength. get a digital model for peace of mind, I believe you get what you pay for so don't look to save money on something that may save you. Ortovox, Pieps, and BCA all have good beacons.

there are many available try (beacon reviews .com ) for info ,i bought pieps dsp for ease of use after trying a borrowed one last year, it is very easy to use but practice is important, analog beacons are harder to use for begginers

I've got a digital Barryvox Mammut.

It's absolutely idiot simple to use - I'm proof of that.

It was by far the easiest to use, fastest, and most accurate beacon in the group when I did the Zac's Tracks avy course.

I would highly recommend it.

DEFINITELY go digital, regardless of the brand, they're far better.
