asa trail sticker placement?

does anyone know do I have to affix this to my machine or can I just display it in a map bag on the machine?

I know lots of guys that never attach the decals, some that put them on the windscreen, some on the clutch cover under the hood. As long as you buy one, that's what counts.

trail pass doesnt need be shown but i was told by cops last week that the plate had to be visible on the sled and if you go into the law book it says on the rear
