I have a 97 Macz 800 and the primary and secondary clutches are touching one anothe when I wind up the RPM's. It ruined both clutches. I changed the primary and they are still rubbing. This problem just came out of no where, no adjustments where made to encourage this problem. Has anyone experienced this issue before and where do I look for a probable cause?

sounds like loose engine mounts or worn mounts that caused the engine to slide or jackshaft bearing issues. but you would think it would cause some other damage before the clutches would touch.

Yep I would say loose motor mounts too.

Or check frame alignment, if you hit something hard you could have bent the bulkhead that would have caused the clutches to touch. I'm suspecting motor mounts first though, unless you're just not telling us you ran into a wall at 50 mph.

Wouldnt' suspect jackshaft as much, usually if it moved that much you'd have chaincase issues or the bearing would have let go by now.

How many belts did you go though before you noticed they were touching?
