I'm sure you'll hear both sides but I've got an 05 900 RMK with over 4,000 miles and I have had minimal problems as the second owner. I've had it for 3 years now.

I have a 05 900 anniversary edition and I ride it hard and put it away wet! I have had 1 thing go wrong with it since I have owned it and that was a mag wire let go. its a tough machine to kill. I know about the stories of the engine issues but if it has made it this far then it doesnt have the issues does it (well we hope). I think its a great sled

Wingwalker has one....loves it, and has had zero problems with it. He's even stretching it out this year so it can handle the deep powder a little better

I had someone ask me if I wanted to swap my 151 for their 166. He said it was too much with bad shoulders.
The 151 gets me to lots of places I find I don't want to be. :)

I had one too. /stock it was a heavy belt eating peice of crap. After about $3000 dollars worth of mods it was less heavy. but still a high maintence sled. After two busted cranks in less than 2000 miles I sold it. They are cheap for a reason. buy something else. JMO.

yep , busted a crank in mine last winter, they put in the beefier modified one that should have been done from day one ,but polaris made a woopsy and the customer gets to pay for it lol
I do like it though, its heats up quick if I cant find any loosed powder here in the prairies, so I just ordered a set of scratchers for it . My hubby has an RMK 600 2010 and its way lighter to handle and just as snappy :)

I had a 05 900 with (cant remember exactly) 4000 plus miles.....Zero problems and drove it hard. belt lasted 15-1800 miles......great power. traded it but wish I would have kept it now.......would want a 900 before any 07-09 800......they are the time bomb of polaris!

just like any sled it will have problems if you dont maintain it and ignore obvious signs.

My '06 900 has been an awesome sled. It's held it's own against pretty well all normally aspiritated sleds and done it very reliably (sp). By the way, my '06 has over $20K into it and it's for sale for $6500 O.B.O. As great as it's been, I love the new Pro chassis and will be snow checking one in March. I definitely will miss the arm-pulling torque of my 900.
