law is nothing over 8.6 feet wide you would have to be a farmer or have a permit for 9 feet but in alberta anything is possible i don't think any manufacture would put there name on one i have a 2 place trailer that is 8.5 wide and have been hassled in BC by the cops saying it's to wide have to measure it to prove my point and it's made in canada

So... even if your trailer is legal at 8'6", can you have something (ie: Razor) hanging over the edges (bumpers sticking over)? If so, what do you need for that?

what you need for that is to get pulled over in BC, you will be parked on the spot until the problem (overwidth) is fixed. To get an oversize permit in BC you must be a commercial vehicle and have a "non-reducible load"
