Im curious what your guys' experience has been seeing 872R vs 872 etec. Dave says he actually prefers the R because you can get more out of it. Talked to Linderman and he says he figures you can get more out of the etec.

I know someone is on there 3rd year with the 872 R and nothing N/A can touch it period! Well unless its a 1800cc monster ! But you can ride it all winter every weekend and the 872 Etec will not keep up !And no 880,860 will either.. Also the fuel mileage on the 872 R is very close to the Etec within 1- 1 1/2 gallons end of a full day of 60 miles Revy riding. Others may try and copy it but won't be the same as Trygstad for power reliability and service ! Jus saying !

Comparing the 872R to the 872 Etec is a totally different animal, The 872R can make a lot more power , (up to 215 Plus-Race version) because of its higher rpm range, lighter weight, adapts to race fuel blends, timing perameters endless, The 872 Etec is a great performing vehicle with huge torque band that runs at 7950 Rpm, And yes overall is heavier, We have at this time 7 different compression ratios along with some different porting designs for specific applications for this vehicle, We have over 200 of these Etec BB 872 Kits out and have developed it over a 4 year period to where it is now, Have spent a huge amount of time again on our Super Flow 901 Dyno tweaking the perameters on this kit this season to give our customers the best products available, There is a lot more involved in building the BB etec than just installing a larger piston, Pricing on our Proven 872 Etec BB is $2,250.00 servicing customers parts, Outright purchase can be done, Complete Team clutching kit can be sold with kit at a great price also, Give a call for details, Dave Trygstad 507-281-3545 Home Page

I agree you can get more out of a Ptec BB forsure. My race gas motts 880 would have NO problem with the 872 tho. Cory Micku's Stage 2 bikeman 880 would have no trouble keeping up with a 872 ither im sure. http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j...OjG4X0R1C5ue7Z6zj1LuZyA&bvm=bv.51156542,d.aWc

Dave was a championship ice and asphalt racer and can make sleds go very fast. His mountain application 872 ETEC is outstanding. My nephew is running one and it tunes like a stocker but runs like a thoroughbred.
