Does anyone recommend a brand of chip they have used? I have a 2008 Polaris 800efi and i`m simply looking for a little more power after putting on bigger wheels and tires. Happy trails!!!

a chip won't really do anything. i would get a clutch kit and you will gain your low end that you lost back.

The new 800 H.O. has a factory clutch kit in it ( or so dealer says...) Guess I was just looking for a little wheel standing action......

it isn't a clutch kit. just different facotry clutching from previous years. you can get clutch kits for them.

About the only way you'll see a significant difference by adding a chip to your efi is by going to an aftermarket exhaust and possibly air box mods. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is an after market pipe for the 800 yet. A buddy of mine has an '05 700 efi polaris and he can't seem to find a pipe anywhere for it. It seems white bros. were the only ones making after market pipes for them.

Thanks for the info.... So spending $400.00 on the Dyno jet Power Commander is a waste of money? I really don`t know anyone out here in Sask. who has tried one to ask.

it will be a waste of money unless you get exhaust and an air filter. there are tons of exhaust out for the 700 and 800. hsp, wileyco, big gun, pro circut, white brothers, muzzy, aaen, just to name a few.

I see you have done the intake and exhaust on your 500... Did you notice a big differance in power for the amount of money invested into it? Do you find the HSP exhaust really loud ? I`ve ridden with a guy out hear with an Aaen pipe on his 06 Polaris 800 and nobody wants to be anywhere near that machine as its insanely loud. Thanks for the tips, I`ll look into getting a K&N filter asap....

hellow from Sask. this is my first post. last fall i bought a 09 renegade 800r it seemed like i rode it 5 times and i was used to the power.this spring i was going to put huge zillas on it but my friend who owns the can-am dealership talked me out of it.said it would rob more power out of it and i wouldn't be happy. so today i got my girl back from the shop i went hmf utillity pipe;twin air intake;and a hmf generatoin 3 controlable optimizer chip!that sure woke her up from the grave! all these guys on other forums talking down on hmf optimizer must be doing things terrably wrong. i never did the work my self i let the dealer do it so it didn't void my 3 year warrenty. this is just day one and i am more than happy. once i figure out how to tune it to my ridding i'll be looking for the next best thing!

How did the tuning of your optimizer go?
Do you have to adjust it with big altitude and temperature changes?
Thanks
