Hearing some really good reports on the new Axys .
If both are equipped the same as far as tracks which one is standing out?
Sounds like the Doo maybe sucking the hind tit this year.
Early in the year but good on Polaris .

Seen a couple new axys at rensaw last weekend, they said two of their friends already blew their new axys up, crank bearing I believe, 40km on the machine.

It does look great and I would like to try one, I ran a 14 pro, but on a t3 now. I am not brand loyal, but this t3 is hard to beat, it's just so easy to ride and just plain works great. The only thing I dislike is the weight, you sure notice the difference when it's stuck. I used to be able to roll my pro over easily myself, this t3 feels like a pig in the same situation, however, riding them I can't really feel the weight difference.

Does Polaris put on any demo days where you can take an axys for a rip?

100 miles on my new axys with no problems other then the odd spark plug fouling due to break in mode. Has a lot more snap then the other two xm summits I ride with.

My xm has had 5000 km on the same plugs and is in the break in mode again ( dealer wanted to install new pistons as prevention maintenance) and never, ever fouled a plug

^ Really, because my t3 had to go back to the dealer to get something done with the plugs with regards to fouling in cold starts or something... Let's not start the brand war, it's always the same guys on repeat.

With a cold engine and extra fuel and oil, you might run into those issues.

I agree, no brand bashing! :p I've seen an axys bend the A-arm due to a slight hit. He also said that on hard enough rides up people are being their axis a-arms as well.

Wasn't bashing, just can't believe it's fouling plugs from oil

Heck even on break in they still use less than a older carbed sled



And ur t3 2015 was a map reprogram cause of fuel foul, not oil

The Polaris runs extra oil in first tank for some reason .
This is what causes the plug foul.
With carbs that all did it but didn't thing it was required with the newer engines.

I have a 2015 163 T3 and a 163 Axys 2.6. I rode them both yesterday up the same hills and tried to make sure I had similar lines doing the same maneuvers. I have never really had a hard time switching from one to the other and I make no claims of greatness with my riding ability. Conditions were about 26-30 inches of snow with no base riding at 8200 feet and up.



Here is what I noticed between the two:

-Axys gets up and stays on the snow with very little trenching. I refuse to call it instantaneous lift marketing crap. The etec and the 3 in track compensate well for the T3 here. That said the Axys was noticeably faster up the hill. Excited to get it clutched right.

-I have the Axys on the narrowest setting and I still like the narrower front end of of the T3 better. I notice this most when I want to s-turn going down hill.

-Given the early snow conditions and limited number of hills I am will to risk riding right now we had to ride through each other's lines regularly. The rigid chassis of the pro/Axys is much easier to navigate side hills with trenches as the t-motion can make that scenario a bit more challenging.

Not enough snow to spend too much time in the trees, but I have never really had an issue on either sled in the trees. Not sure I understand everything people talk about here as I have gone places in the trees with the T3 my buddies with 163 pro's were also going with no issues. Maybe just not steep enough to panel out, but honestly just didn't have much issue either way.

I am in a situation that I am fortunate enough to be able to have both sleds and I am glad that I do. They both rip and the new motor in the Axys is promising for sure.

Also worth noting that I went across a stream with rocks/logs 24 different times (12 crossings in and 12 out) on the Axys. Also dug the ski tip in a couple of times and got thrown off the sled. Was sure I had bent a lower a-arm after reading some of the posts. No problems.

Not sure this helps, but in my opinion you can't go wrong with either sled. Never a problem with my T3 (other than being extra diligent on keeping it cool in marginal snow) and my Axys is off to a fantastic start.[/QUOTE]

There was a software update Tex last year for the 15's. They switched up plugs for 15 and started having plug fouling on the ETEC's when severe cold came into play.

So was it the map or plugs that caused the issue??

Rode the axys I disagree didn't get on the snow well at all compared to my Doo. Power couldn't tell the difference between the Doo or Poo. I did like how the axys responded to very little movement to get it on its side. Don't think the Poo is a bad machine but I definetly wouldn't run out to spend 15g on one. Polaris's always look beat up after a season on the snow. Never been impressed with fit and finish on the Polaris.
