I’ll swap my 162 skid, drivers and track off my 18 with 350 miles on it.
I won’t be selling the sled till next fall. Shawn you should just build a blue and black Alpha for next year. Pass the 18 down to your kids to ride. Would love to see how you would build a Alpha.

I really liked the boards. No ice build up. The doo would ice up worse than a cat because of the tunnel coolers. The little grips on the BDX boards are way better than the screws that most tube boards use. They also let more snow out in the front part of the footwell that usually packs with snow.

These stay cleaner up front than the Cat accessory boards.
The Cat accessory boards (center infill with stock foot well area)are a step up from the factory boards and the BDX boards are another step up.
If some one is going to a belt drive and want to keep snow out of the belt drive base the BDX boards you have are definatly the best way to go.

Lined up the Alpha with my 174 turbo pro, noticed a few things. Guys complain about the cat sitting low in the front, that is definitely not the case with the BDX front end. It has more clearance under the A arms than the pro. The front of the boards on the Alpha are more rider forward than the pro by a few inches allowing the back of the boards to be more forward. Polaris has shortened the boards on the Axys compared to the pro. The 165 is almost as long as the 174 on the ground. I think the extra length is gained by the rolled chaincase getting more track closer to the ground. Nothing really scientific here just a few observations comparing the 2 chassis.

Hey Niner what are you running for shock pressures on the Alpha?
I run 70 lbs in FTS and 170 lbs in RTS. But I prefer to have my shocks set up stiffer for climbing not for comfort.
