I've been going back and forth between the new F150 and silverado. I prefer the new 5.0 3.73 over the eco. Power wise I have to give the f150 the edge over the silverado, you can feel the extra 20 ponies. The silverado was the max trailer tow.both are pretty close when driving one after the other. Price wise optioned similar they are almost identical.

What do you like about the 5.0 over the ecoboost?
Better top end power, eco runs out of steam. Better fuel economy ,I reset the liometer before all trips and did the same route.
5.0 3.73 14.6l/100km
3.5 eco 3.55 16.2l/100km
3.5 eco 3.31 14.8l/100km
5.3 3.73 14.6l/100km

Also love the sound of the V8 and it's $900 cheaper than eco. The new 5.0 with 385 hp and lighter truck makes it a lot of fun to drive, much better throttle tip in than the silverado.

I've got 5000km's on mine with the 3.5. So far it has been a nice truck to drive, no complaints. The 3 different transmission modes is nice. Best fuel economy so far using the lie o meter is 12.9/100km averaging 110km/h driving form bonnyville to edmonton, around edmonton and back. It has the big tank and I got 900km's to that tank. Previously I had a '12 raptor and like this '15 much better.

It's a pickup, when do you use the top end?

Have you considered the 2.7 eco?

U should drive a tuned 3.5...I can tell u from experience that it does not lack the top end...it pulls hard. Just don't expect the fuel mileage that ford says it should get. All in all I am more than impressed with the 3.5 in my f150 (2013).

No manufacture stated realistic mileage. Bases on a flat ground test at 80 kmh with no wind. When does that ever happen. Wifey's Honda Civic is rated for 50 mpg and with her at the wheel (very light foot) the very best we've ever got on the highway is 40. The mfg had been lying to us.....lol

Tapatalk is getting better...on my cell phone.

My 2014 6.2 GM gets better them any #'s posted.
Just saying
Yup and 10 grand more to get it having to step up to an SLT or an LTZ.GM crapped the bed on this not having the 6.2 available to all trim levels.6.2 is also a $2700 option.Great engine and power but limited avaiability and high price.

Yes all from my test drive .Towing is where the ecoboost really sucks the fuel so for me I tow a work trailer 5 days a week and on weekends my 2 place sled trailer or my 20' TT.The revised 5.0 is much better than the previous plus I would only consider the 3.73 gears in the 5.0

Just curious with the new body will the ford insurance premiums be higher? Interesting I went for latest and greatest on my sled and this year bought the 2014 Ford in july. Nice to hear that the 2015 is a perky fun to drive truck but I guess that is reflected in the cost. Where you under hard acceleration over any of these economy tests. My numbers on 11 eco and 14 5.0 are 12.9 and 14 respectfully.

What's the big deal about repairs.
My buddy repairs jet boats all the time and not a big deal .
Pulls out, cuts out , re- welds parts back in then preps and paints .
Good as new.
