Looking to jump onto a cat but I'm not sure about the 2012's , haven't heard much about pros and cons of them. Lots of problems with them or should I go get myself asap

If you can find comparable priced 13' I agree with medler. Aside from that I do t know anyone with a 12' who had any real problems. I would make sure it got the clutch upgrade. And if you find one already narrowed that would be a big bonus also. Mine has been good to me. And mike many #'s has like 5000+km's with no issues aside from wear and tear

Riding my son's 2012 kept me on my 2010. The handling was horrible. Go newer if you can. You can make a 2012 perform like a 13 or 14, but it'll cost you. Reliability wise they're just fine though.

My 2012 has been flawless for 3200km all updates done 2014 secondary and gearing 2013 narrow front end anti-slop steering bushing. I was nervous about the 2012 as some did have issues. I must have got a good one. I've been trying to sell it due to work and lack of snow but still have it. I guess I will ride it another season unless this economy turns around.

I've been looking a bit and a 12 can be had for quite a bit less than at 13' or 14' and with $1000-$1500 you can do the narrowing and the clutch work and even drop a gear to get the better low end punch if you want. And if you buy those things used you could do the skid relocate but I heard that's not really a big difference

X2 - Terry and crew will treat you right. Incidentally, I found the 14 and 15 to be geared a touch low, doesn't load the motor enough. I'm a big fan of 20/49 gearing, and you can get rid of the useless aluminum bottom gear that's found in the 14-15's chaincase. I narrowed up my 13 and absolutely love it - over 2300 km on it with a stock motor, have another 500 km on the Arctic Edge 925 big bore. Only thing that's failed in all that time was one hand warmer and the thumb warmer. Anything else has been minor maintenance or modifications.

I have 2012 runs great pulls hard but had to put a lot of extras into sled to make it work good, not geared as low as my 2016 HCR which rips but does not pull as hard as the 12 yet, need to gear the16 up for sure the12 has been good no motor issues still runs strong

12's are good but they need to be at least be updated to the 13's. ive had no issues other than ones brought on myself lol. updated to the 38" front end, 162 2.6 track, big fin secondary, stock primary with MDS weights, full SLP kit with PCV, custom cold air intake, carbon hood, oil delete etc. its a great sled
