so I have a Magnaflow cat back exhaust for a 2011-12 duramax that I have been trying to sell and no one seems to be interested. I would like to make it work on my 2010 and I'm just wondering if there is any benefit to removing the muffler and welding in a piece of pipe. The DPF is already deleted. will there be any performance gains or will I just have a loud diesel? I'm only asking $250 for the exhaust. Only the tail pipe was installed on a buddies truck for a couple months.

Less restrictions equals more flow. Gains will be minimal, but over time you may be able to see sometime. The money you save not buying a new kit for your truck will make it worth it. If it was me, the muffler would've been gone the day i bought the truck. Just extra weight to carry around lol.

If what you have pictured is all you have, then I would keep it, get rid of your stock exhaust and go straight pipe from the downpipe back. It will be a little louder but IMO I think it sounds good.
