i am having trouble with my recoil. it pulls out and recoils fine. but when you pull out on the rope it doesn't turn the engine over. i pulled it off and everything looks fine and i cleaned and lubed it up. Not sure what is worn or broken everything seems fine. guess my question is what springs the dog out so it engages the dog. Any help is appreciated

when you took it off did you pull on the rope and watch if the dogs engaged they all should come out at the same time check the end of the crank where the recoil mounts if everything looks fine turn off all switches and turn the end of the crank with your hand or wrap a rope around the housing and try to turn if that doesn't work you have a busted crank

The engine runs fine and you can start it with the electric start and it’s fine. It’s something in the recoil I just can’t figure out what part it is. What makes the mechanism in the recoil move over so it catches the dog on the engine?
