2001 summit 800 runs 5 mins dies...

after it dies ,half an hour later it will start ,run a bit then die again.........would it be a stator problem????

Deffinately has the symptoms of a failing stator.

Could be a failing Coil..............sled will usually start die after a short while, and won't start till it cools down, 1/2 sounds about right...........

Yep, had a dirtbike like that. Broken wire in the coil, heats up and loses continuity, then when it cools down it would work again for about 5-10 mins, then stop running again. If it is a broken wire in the stator could be the same thing. Coil is cheaper to diagnose and replace first though.

Was it electrical confirmed by no spark after it stopped running?

Usually if it's a stator it won't run at all, sounds more along the lines that the coil has failed.
