I have a 2001 Polaris RMK 800 that i just bought it and it it idling around 3000-3500rpm after it is warmed up.
- I have tried making adjustments on the carbs with no change in the idle.
- I tore the carb apart, inspected and cleaned all jets/ no change.
I figure there is air getting in somewhere but I'm not sure where its coming from, any advise would be appreciated.

Maybe a Clutch side crank seal, spray eather down behind clutch, if it revs up, you are sucking air. Last year we seen one go on the mag side. If you blow a belt and it sometimes wraps in around the stub on the crank, it may wear into the seal and make it leak.

what paulw22 said. easy quick test that will tell right away if its seal or not. carb boots another area that needs attention. small cracks in boots. you can use brake clean as well. if theres a leak it will kill the engine or idle right down to damn near stall.

after you figure out if seal is the culprit, and if its not, disconnect the throttle cable from the carbs, if its still idling high, might be bent throttle plate rod.keeping it open a bit.
