Hello Everyone this is my first post but I am long time reader, just a quick couple of questions. I have a 2000 RMK 800 with a 144 track and I do a good 85-90% off the
trail riding and I am finding myself getting left behind on the hill climbs and
such. I spend quite a bit of time digging out my back end and taking a few runs
at the hill. So I am wanting to extend my rails to accept a 151 track x 2"
paddles, I think that is the longest I want to go because I still like to be
able to handle my sled pretty well.
I am thinking of
getting my parts from Tracks USA online, any reviews of these guys?
Do I need to do a tunnel extension to accommodate the 151
track? If so how would that work with the heat exchanger being right on the back
of the seld?
Also is there any problems with the longer
track causing any problems up near the front, by the front rad? Drivers
ect....?
Any ideas our suggestions would be great? I have
never done this before so I am open to anything.
I just know
that a longer track will help me out a lot!

Thanks in advance

going from 144 to 151 would be a waste of your money the amount of track on the ground is less than 2 inches. you will get the same results if you change your 144 to a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch if you want good traction i would go to a 155 x 2 1/2.

My other option was a 159 x 2.125 track, but I was thinking that was too big?

You will have to make mods for extra driver clearance to run more than a 2 inch lug on your sled.

rmk800.JPG Just an update from when I posted this last year.
I finally got around to doing the track extension. I put on a 159 x 2.125 track, instead
of extending my rails I got some 159 rails from and edge chassis. I also took the suspension from the edge and put it under mine. I also put in a two wheel kit. I did a few mods under the hood as well. SLP twin pipes and can, also dropped a couple teeth on my top gear for low end power. Re-jetted and changed my clutching. Also added a much lighter Edge seat.
