Where is the best place to get a cylinder ported? Cylinder is off of a CR500. In canada would be good but will send it state side to get it done right. thanks for any info

Eric Gorr at forward motion. Had a cr 250 with his 295cc big bore ported for mid-top. Good service and a great product. I'm buying a bike again and will be sending the top end to him again. I think he offers a 520cc big bore with porting for your motor.

What are you trying to achieve with the porting ? 99 % of pro riders can not even ride a bone stock 500 2 stroke to it's full potential

You could also try service Honda in the states they make the aluminum framed cr 500's

Yeah Im running a 2004 service honda now. Last year of the 2 stroked framed ones. Also have a 2000 steel framer for a spare. Using all the potential of a 500 isn't easy but there are always places you can do it. hill climbing etc. My main goal with getting it ported is to broaden the power band and give it more bottom to mid. I've rode several ported 500s and my buddy has one that works really good. Just can't get ahold of the guy that ported his....

I know a guy in Edmonton that has been riding 2 strokes since 1982 and been racing motocross since 1989 that has always had fast bikes and been porting them since 89. Great work at a good price. Mirror finish on exhaust ports and has all the right tools for a smooth and crisp power delivery. Call (780)240-0873 He is also a Journeyman motorcycle mechanic.

Adam millar near winnipeg. You need to send your crankcases too. He's better than Eric Gorr. I had mine done and head by him too with decompression valve and its great. I had my cr5 on the dyno against a KX5 with Eric Gorr porting and I out torqued him from way lower rpms and stronger thru the range. The kx5 pulled 1 hp on me but way higher in the range. I had a PC pipe but Adam says if I had a Fatty i'd probably get 1 more hp and with a pulse charger installed on the intake even more torque.

Adam's the knowledge for cr5's.

Tell him Andre in Edmonton sent you.

I have a KX500AF that supposedly had Gorr's porting. Wasn't overly impressed. Wonder if it was someone else's work that sold it as Gorr's. It made 62 with no real fanfare.

I got it redone by the guy that usually does my work and we will see what happens when I get it back together.
