So did it have lots of crank runout on the mag side to bounce around and rub the stator to magnets

May want to ask this, or may take out all you new parts

My neighbor down the street that I occasionally ride with has 2 Skandics, 2012's I believe that had the same issues and new stators fixed them both.

Just talked to the owner of the skidoo dealership, he thought that the crank bearings could be toast and causing this so that was the first thing they checked once they found the problem. The actual magnets from inside the flywheel dislodged and backed themselves out and because it is a tolerance fit and there isn't a lot of room the wiring was compromised by the dislodged magnets, however crank runout was within tolerance, according to mechanic.
