06 kodiak 450 temp light

Hi there, I just picked up this clean 06 kodiak with only 600 km. I ride around the field for 15 mins and the temp light comes on. I shut it off, the fan never kicks in (if there is one?). The rad is clean and clear. The coolant is full.
Help would be appreciated, thanks.

There should be a coolant temperature sender in the back side of the rad some where, pull the plug and jump across the wire harness. If the fan comes on, then the sender is bad, if it doesn't then, you could have a bad fan relay, circuit breaker or wiring.
