k so i have a 2001 summit 800. runs great no problems but when it warms up it drops rpm to nothing when idleing and the clutch is making cazy knocking sounds ...... any ideas whats wrong? thanx
when the rpm drops really low like that it will start to throw the arms at the ramps since there is not enough rpm or force on the clutch arms to keep them permanantly open. it goes away when revved up correct?
it is normal for these machines to idle high for warm up and then drop low..
how low is how YOU set it. there is an idle screw above the center of both carbs that yuou can adjust with your fingers. out is idle down and in is idle up. let it warm up then make SMALL adjustments to the screw until you reach an idle speed of 1500rpm.
