This is how I carried my rifle, modified the mounting bracket to fit both sides , 2 firearms.

Pretty sure you can't pack it loaded. I had a run in with an officer a few years back and had my marine pup in my quad box loaded but nothing in the chamber and he made me pump everything out of it. No fines but said I couldn't transport a loaded weapon. Just curious... How do you define "run in with a bear" as in charged by one or seen one up close? I see many bears every year, infact was within 20 yards of a black bear just before dark tonight. Bear smarts man. Keep it concealed, less questions to answer.

Legal or not I personally would never transport anything with a round in the chamber. It's too bad that in today's world we all play
by different rules. It's sad that a guy with a gun on his hip and a round in the chamber is telling you to unload your weapon.
Self defense is the same no matter who you are .

Me or my brother always have a defender shot gun or at least a 22. We go way into the bush north of Fort Assiniboin lots of bears up there, and if we broke down or something happened and needed to spend the night I would feel way safer with a gun!

If you fell you need to load fast and can't load quickly then go with a shotgun and detatchable mag setup. It is legal to have a loaded mag as long as it isn't in the rifle or shotgun. Pretty quick to insert mag and chamber.

double barrel 12 gauge, first shell is loaded with air soft bb,s the second with 30 caliber and double 0 for filler.I don't want to kill anything but if the first one doesn't perswade a bear or moose the second one ends the problem.

To date have never needed the second one.

no Airsoft bb's for this guy. She's double ought, slug, double ought, slug... If I ever come to the point I need to pull the trigger, it's not going to be an Airsoft shot on a bear. Hahaha. I've been charged by a bear in a remote area with no weapon on more than one occasion.
This bear tormented us for hours until the chopper could come get us. Oil companies would not let us pack heat until that medic showed video of that brown bear charging a few times. Another time I was chased into a well shack by a black bear. Thankfully I had a radio to call for help but again, no weapon. I carry one now when I'm remote. I have personally seen over 10 bears shot over the years that needed to go down. The bear population where I live has exploded over the years. The local trappers are now allowed to harvest 6 bears off the trapline a year. I get bears walking down my driveway and leaving a nice big pile of half digested berries at the kids bus stop. Crazy.

I,m not going to disagree with you,I grew up northwest of rocky as a kid the bush was my play ground,And my best friend was a 12 gauge.I think the problem with bears and all wildlife now is they get smart to the fact, humans cant just shoot them,I don't use pepper spray or bear bangers because the next poor sucker runs into the same bear is screwed.

The air soft bb,s coming out of a 12 gauge at close range they actually have some pretty good power behind them.If I,m by my self a long ways out ya that airsoft soft one comes out.

I know I,m going to get slamed for this but we need to start harassing wild life,we need to pull out the paint ball guns and go to work on those deer and elk standing on the shoulder of the road,we need to shoot a bears in the ass with something that hurts so the next time they see a human they think its going to hurt. Then we save people and wildlife.Ok guys gohead and start bashing.

Agree 100 % . It's getting so it seems we're almost training wild animals to be comfortable around habitated areas, then when they act like wild animals, we express shock. Slam me too, cause I find once black bears and some other critters start becoming comfortable near humans, there's really only one answer. No bear spray for me.

I watch on tv that grizzly bears are getting so smart that if they hear a gun shot they will go towards it. Because they know that there is a fresh kill.

We refere to them as dumb animals, but are they, same with national parks the animals seem to know where the boundries are.So are bears capable of figering out where a easy meal is,I would say ya.

This is very true.

I highly admire and respect wild life. As a family we hunt and fish and spend majority of our time outdoors. Have been charged a few times but never hurt. I always pack a gun because you just never know. Over the years the only animal that I actually had to kill was a wolverine. If anyone knows anything about them you could understand why.
