Hi guys, Im so new to this and the first time I took my yamaha out i ran into a problem.

I was going uphill when i noticed something burning and a lil smoke coming out. I pulled aside, and look under the quad to find green fluid everywhere. I figured it was my coolant but dont know how it rupture or anything. I found the resevoir by my left foot that said coolant and it was empty, so I filled it with water. later back at the camp I noticed the water i had put in didnt go down too much... so any ideas what could of happened? One of the guys thought maybe the rad didnt do its job, so it erraptured due to pressure build up??? i dont know ... I wanted the service manual so that I can take it apart and see if I find where the leakage happened from and other things...

Anyone can help me with the service manual? or any ideas what might had happened?

Thanks!

if a Rad is empty it won't pull fluids in from the burp tank. (UN less its gravity feed like un some vehicles)

Good lord, you probably had no idea what you were getting into when you offered up that manual. If the 2003 manual works for the 2004 450 Kodiak - I need it to :) tammy.wiebe@shaw.ca. I have an entire brake assembly that needs to be rebuilt and unfortunately the helpful gentleman that took it apart for me is no longer available to put it back together.

Stay tuned for amusing updates on how I do trying to put everything back in the right places.

Who needs brakes anyway?
