Had this code pop up on me last two days. Came on in the morning once, I checked to see the code p1471 sled wasnt running any differently. Shut it off, fired back up, no code for the rest of the day. Did the exact same thing the next day.
Did some googling and I found some things about this code on that older skidoo’s, but not the 850. Talked about somthing to
do with the raves. But not sure if that’s relevant since it’s from XP’s and Xms.
Anyone got any ideas what that code is?

it’s on a 2017 850. I have a nice new engine wiring harness waiting to be installed, perhaps it’s time to do that.
Thanks for any insight.

Something going on with the Rave Valve position sensor I think is that code... could pop the cover off and check to make sure all the bolts are tight,

I had an issue with my XM throwing an intermittent rave valve code that turned out to be a loose sensor.

I checked the sensor and it was tight. I called a few dealers and most had never stocked the rave position sensor for these sleds, so maybe the sensors don’t fail, but more likely the crappy wiring harness. So I went ahead and did the terrible task of changing out that harness. Hopefully that helped.
I’ll post up if that cured it after my next ride.

You probably will get it then. There was some wiring harness issues with the 2017 850's. Mostly around the rave sensors. I believe there was an update as well.

Just wanted to close the loop on this thread. Just got back from a few days of riding and no more codes. Changing out that harness fixed the issue.
hopefully this can be helpful to someone in the future.

This is the exact issue I'm having with my 2017, same code and everything. Did you happen to find where the wire was broken?

How big of a job was it to change the harness? did you have to pull the motor?

Well I had the typical injector zip tie chafe, I fixed that, then I had a broken wire down inside the connector for the coolant temp sensor, I fixed that. Then the very next ride the issue I posted about happened so I said screw it no more searching for wires I’m just changing them all. So to answer your question I didn’t find the wire that led to the p1471.
As for changing out the harness, I pulled the motor so I could get the harness off, it’s tucked so tight around the block I didn’t see any other way to do it.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to see if I can find the broken wire, If i can't I'll have to replace the harness.
