Heavy handling of the turbo vs N/A help!!

Is it just me or does the turbo feel very heavy and you really have to work hard to throw it around vs NA G4 doos? It almost feels like and OG rev chassis where the skis just want to stay planted and hard to initiate off camber. I love the power but just feels like 50lbs heavier in the handling vs the actual 16lbs. Coming off 20 165 Expert which I almost regret selling just because it felt so much better to ride in technical terrain. So in saying that if you have noticed this also what have you done and results? I've cranked up skid front shock preload to take some weight off front end, was debating throwing a can / exh on to kill 10lbs or so. I have springs front and rear turned pretty soft to keep the ski pressure low to help with the heavy feeling, but still not even close to what I thought it would be. Love it but can't believe it feels so much piggier vs my regular G4. Appreciate your input!


Totally agree. For a turbo snowmobile the power and response is fantastic but the sled feels heavier especially at slow speeds and I think it’s due to clutching alone. Riding both 2020 expert na and 2021 turbo back to back the n/a sled feels like a toy. Faster and more controlled through the trees on the N/A. The n/a is much more responsive on the bottom.

Lets be fair, any oem sled with and without turbo there will be weight difference that is noticeable. Doo did a great job and now its up th the consumer if the extra 30-40hp is worth the feeling of a bit more weight. And from reading the posts it sounds like it is totally worth it.

Lets also remember that the turbo is higher up and off to the exhaust side. This raises the center of gravity. I will say though, Ski-doo did a pretty good job with centering the weight on the G4 chassis. It is difficult to have relative heavy clutches sticking out one side and keep these things balanced.

I turn the front shock springs up to keep the front end from diving. If they are to soft I find it handles poor and feels heavy.

Front shocks turned up, front skid shop turned up and rear shock set up for the rider will alleviate that heavy feeling. Limiter strap adjusted out will make it easier to make the ski's light at slower speeds but you will hate it on a climb.

In your case I think the fat guy riding the sled is the issue! My 850T feels light as a feather!

Oh boy here we go. I’m not sure it’s fair to pick on a guys weight during a pandemic lock down. I guess that’s why my wife just came home with a spin bike and a set of ankle weights for me. I thought that was a little aggressive.

Stomp on 90% of y’all. She never said it felt heavy. LMao

WOW this thread is filled with garbage... just get out and ride your sleds.

bunch of women complaining about how your sled handle... It aint a 4S sled, your suspension setup is weak if you think it handles heavy

by the way my 175 turbski is 7lbs heavier on exhaust side.

Yea so aftermarket can and it would be perfectly
Balanced. Just make sure your dealers cool

sorry let me clarify, 7lbs clutch side!!! Way too much boozin last night.

Thats the approx difference that I got when I weighed my ski pressures, I was puzzled by your original comment earlier, and wondered if I messed up, lol.

I will not say anything more as I have been through 3 bottles of wine, 1 fireball and a sangria... but who cares what I post about this more or less Garbage filled thread. :)
