Just for the heck of it, thought I'd see if anyone else out there has any fond memories of the old days...wanting to re-live the earlier days of sledding?I've got a couple newer sleds, but always keep getting bit by the old sled bug!For reasons unknown to me sometimes, I just really enjoy the...
Nice! Sadly I have only the one range, and it feels like a range more between high and low, neither of the two, but closer to the low, until you hit fifth...
Rubicon 500 next time maybe, though I love the 420's weight and the ability to handle. Usually where I go, theres nothing or no one to...
Sounds like 26's will be what I'll be going for...been reading up on some other threads, big definitely isn't always better! (Breakage, Boggy/No Power, Cooked Clutches, Etc...)
That being said, 26" Zilla's any good for a 420?
Found a great deal on a set of 28" Zilla's to toss at my trail unit, just wondering, will they fit?
I'm guessing a lift will probably be needed, though not sure. Running 25" Bear-Claws right now...
Anyone been down this slippery slope before?
If yes, what's needed to make this insanity in my...
They are fun little sleds alright!
I'm doing a engine swap in my Elan Deluxe 250 twin. It's engine was siezed when I picked it up, so I figured, hey why not go a little crazy! Let's build it like Tim Allen would do...More Power!!!:Snowmobile1:
That being said, just trying to figure if I should...
What engine do you have?
250 single, 250 twin, or the 294 twin?
Just venturing a guess that you have the ultra common 250 single...that being said, they usually chug along pretty decent in the deep stuff. Not fast, but not really boggy. I have a 76 Elan 250 single that's been the boggy pain in...
Ok, I'll give that a try. Got to pull it back in the shop and give it a try.
I'm not determined enough to play mechanic outside right now. -35C out @ the farm this evening. I'll see what I can do tomorrow after work.
Thanks again!:thumbsup2:
I'm kinda figuring it's the stator too.
Just in case it may be the trigger you refer to, any way you can think of to test it?
Thanks TROLLCAT!!:thumbsup2::thumbsup2:
Hi, got a stumper here! My ol faithful quit on me...I was out for a good ride on the ol unit, and it was running great. I was hauling pretty good and had to stop for a moment to warm up a bit. Got off the sled and it idled nicely for about 10-15 seconds and then just died. I went back beside it...
I was there too. Totally agree with ya on the busyness there!!! Never seen so many units pull in to one place in such a short time, and still fit them all! I was camping with my wife and a few friends just past the bridge on the way in. Was quite the parade to watch roll in till a little after...
Thanks for the helpful info everyone!:thumbsup2:
Made it out there Friday night before it started getting crazy full.:yikes:
Most full I have ever seen it there! Most dust I have ever rode in too!!!
Saw a few familiar faces on the trails. I was on the 85 Honda 250sx with my wife riding on the...
I'm headed there this afternoon all going well!
Look forward to seeing anyone else from here there too!
I'll either be on my red 08 Honda trx 420 with BearClaws, wife on the back, or on my 1985 Honda atc 250sx trike.
Probably be the only trike out there I suppose...:tazz:
Has anyone heard if the trails @ Big Horn Dam will still be open this weekend?
I just heard rumor that they are shutting down all the trails due to morons going off trail!
I love going out there, and getting back in the bush, but if the rumor I heard is true, the rangers will be closing all...
Got lots of them 5.3l Chevy 4x4's out around here!! 5.3's are high revving little monsters.
Father in law has one in his Avalanche, tows trailers, (r.v, dump utility, sled & quad, etc) and it doesn't do to bad, but it is a little lacking all right!! He's looking into dual exhaust and cold air...
