It's always wind blown up on top, most things on the east and north of the ridge will have good snow.
Look into going into Carrot Basin tomorrow, I see the snotel site is showing a foot of fresh snow so far today!
!
I listed Big Sky #1. I include a few different areas in that. Big Sky, the town its self is a ski resort town up on the mountain, it has overpriced everything. Not at all a snowmobile friendly town. The Big Sky area I would break down into riding areas.
1. Portal Creek, small area I don't know...
lowers the revs, yes. but increases how fast it reaches max rpm. that increased rate to obtain max rpm is what I believe is being calculated by the computer. thus cuts out to avoid over revving, by gaining rpm too fast.
This is the way I understand it, a BRP tech will have way more knowledge...
Buddy had the same issue in Revelstoke a few weeks ago. Dealer said the computer showed 80+ "overrevs". Reason being, he put in a lighter spring and the rpms spin up faster, computer cuts it out and prevents it from "overreving". Your added clutch weight might be the problem. Not sure if this is...
Thanks for the recommendation. We are riding with a friend from Calgary, and his riding partners, and I think they know the area. If it is unfamiliar to them, we will probably be scrambling for a guide last minute.
Yep I gave the bank $350 and they gave me about 500 worth of see through money. Your fuel is more expensive though. We are at $1.99/gal for 91 octane. So I think it will be equal in the end.
We have plenty of good snow right now.....just wanna track up yours! In all seriousness, planned a trip to Canada last year and it fell through. We just pushed our reservation back a year, to this year. Just trying to experience different terrain and area, and making it a guys trip to do our...
WOW! I hope it is still like that next week, when a group of us from Montana is up there. We are hoping for fresh snow of course, looking forward to seeing this riding area.
I hope this is going on at the end of the month, when I am due to arrive. I have been watching and it seems like you guys had suffered a long dry spell. Here's to hoping for more powder days to come!
I have the BRP tunnel backpack, and it holds a shovel. Kind of hard to see detail, but this is a 163 with the brp gas can and tunnel backpack that holds my water lunch shovel and survival gear. to make it work I added a 3rd linq base kit on the sled. no issues at all with this set up last year...
HWY 83 is open year long in Montana
yeah you can ride right from town, most trails connect. I would NOT cross the lake, Seeley Lake, on a snowmobile. Warm temps and thin ice, 2 died crossing the lake back in Dec or Jan.
Plenty of snow in the area, no powder.
You can use for snotel data. North Fork Joko is the snotel sight for Seeley area. The snotel is about 14 miles W NW of Seeley Lake.
National Weather Service This is an idea of the weather forecast for the mountains near the snotel sight.
Lindeys has good...
Yeah so I have heard. I was scheduled to ride Revelstoke, first time ever, but had 5 guys back out in one weeks time. So in order to save our deposit on the rental we pushed it out to the first week of February 2016. Not that bummed as the snow conditions are less than average.
