Had a Honda Foreman a few years back. Good overall quad but I swamped it in a icy cold water hole. It stalled of course. It took a while to get it out and drain all of the water out. We eventually got it going and everything seemed to be ok. Later on in the year, I noticed it was smoking a bit...
Over the years I've owned various machines. Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki. I presently have a 550 grizzly and a 750 Suzuki Kingquad. This is my second Suzuki, and in my opinion the best one by far compared to the previous ones. Very reliable, great ride, just a good all around machine, The...
I've had a Suzuki since 2003. Had a 03 Vinson, have to admit, I've had numerous quads over the years, all brands, this Vinson was the best overall quad by far. I now have a 09 Kingquad. Very reliable, great ride, easy to handle. The power steering is great. It might not have the bottom end as...
Planning a weekend in the Whitecourt area to quad and random camp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Been up in that area before but just road some of the snowmobile trails which were fine but they seem to cross alot of deep water which resulted in turning around. I've heard of the Windfall...
Im in the process of loading a truck camper onto my 06 Dodge Mega Cab. I'm not to sure what clearance I should have between the roof and the overhang. I will be travelling down some gravel roads, maybe a little off-road, but mostly pavement. I really don't need a flat roof. Any comments would be...
Need some feedback on the different truck camper tie downs avaliable. Where's a good place to buy a set? Would I be better off with the frame mounted ones or the pocket brackets? I was considering the pocket brackets until someone told me they are now illegal to use especially in B.C. Any truth...
I've got a 06 Dodge Mega Cab short box. Thinking of getting a good used truck camper. Would anybody know what year of camper I might be limited to because of the different widths of boxes that have come out over the years. Just need a heads up before I get serious about looking for one. Any...
My first quad was a 96 Bayou 400. Had to do the head gasket in it. Same issues that your having. Bought it used, previous owner probably got it to hot. There's not much of a head gasket in those machines, doesn't take much to blow them. Good luck
I have a 09 Kingquad with power steering. This is an awsome machine. You won't be disappointed. I would recommend getting the power steering. First one I've had and it would be hard going back to regular steering. The price sounds good, they were probably 11k + in 09.
Never seen one break on a straight pull, but have seen them break by jerking the machine while hooked up. That hook comes back real quick. Very dangerous. But I agree, when I need a new one I'm going to consider the nylon. Seems like a good product.
Got a buddy who had the same problem. No reverse. Took it into dealership found out tranny was pooched. Not sure what broke but it cost him five grand to fix. Of course, no warranty. I'm sure the reason these things are breaking is because he's got a big cab on it, windshield, heater, doors...
Thanks for the suggestions. But I agree, I think he needs to look into it himself. It was taken into Wetaskwin Motorsports, not saying it was analyzed wrong, but you never know. If it is pooched I've suggested just parting it out. Should be lots of broken down outlanders out there lol.
Got a buddy who has a 05 Outlander. Had it since new but not many miles on it. Took it in, because would not start. Found out the crank is cracked. My question is, how do you crack a crank. Heard of bearings going but not this. Anybody have this issue before. He was told 3 grand to fix. Doesn't...
