Anyone have any updates on the current Maclean creek current conditions? I just need enough snow to tune my machine. Not looking for good riding. Just curious if there's enough snow on the trails for that or if I should go to Cataract Creek instead? Will be riding tomorrow (Friday 12/23/16).
I just want to say thank you for those who have replied here with solid info and also for keeping it classy. I fully recognize that my opinions on what should and should not be allowed have nothing to do with what is actually allowed. I also want to state that not only will I follow the rules...
Haha, another keyboard warrior! Nice post, sir Lancelot. Anyway, the entire reason I came on here is to find out what is allowed and what is not. If you read the rest of the thread you would have realized this. I was simply pointing out that sleds don't really hurt anything (so long as there are...
What about Plateau Mountain? Looks like some sort of reserve so likely not technically allowed to ride there but honestly, what the heck kind of damage can a sled realistically do when there's enough snow to make it even worth attempting to ride there?
So as OP, I'll answer a few things...
No, I likely will not try to change the regs in Alberta but rather, I'll just continue riding in BC. Or if I get laid off I'll just move there. The reason is not that I don't care but rather, the areas here are apparently not worth fighting for. Not enough...
I have ridden out there and over the pass into the BC side and it was really good. But man, what a stupid long trail ride! If I could find a better way over the pass I'd be all over that but it's pretty white knuckle rising over those rocks on a snowbike! 8-|
Just looking at some maps, it seems one could find decent elevation within the Elbow-Sheep Wildland area and without getting too close to the Peter Lougheed park. Thoughts? Can one ride on Moose Mtn or do you have to keep to the Maclean boundaries?
I'm sure this has been asked before but is there any off trail mountain style sledding to be had in or near Maclean? I have a snowbike and am thinking I can likely find my way up to some incredible areas but just have never tried yet. Whereabouts do the parks begin (no ride zone)? Any maps would...
Thanks for the heads up. I'll measure next time I've got it up there. I came back from vernon with it up there, went right by the golden scale and never had any issues so I might be just under.
Edit: I know he also consulted with DOT when building these so probably made sure they would be ok.
Around 14'. But most of the RZR weight is down low in the back so it's surprisingly stable when driving. Camper keeps everything nice and stable as well.
Do we have any UTV performance / stage / races here in Alberta? What I mean is sanctioned events where the trail is closed and do a time trial from point A to B on a logging road or similar with pace notes and intercoms and such? I used rally cars and now have a RZR 1000 and was hoping to get...
Who around Calgary can rebuild and tune the Walker Evans RZR 1000 suspension? I was thinking either Pro-Action or Riders Edge but are they dirt bike only? Are there others I should be considering?

Been looking at these. My neighbour made a dolly and uses a winch to pull the seadoo right into the bed up some ramps but I have to say, it doesn't always feel so stable to me. This Jet Trax setup looks way slicker (and more expensive of course). I also like that you can get 2 watercraft on it...
