I debated on the rebar for days till I actually took it apart. The rebar will have to travel past the aluminum riser, the metal clamp the handle bars bolt to, the handle bars, and then the handle bar bag.
This is only to get the rest of the season out the stem anyway.
I will replace it...
Thx. I just got at it today. I installed an old one I had laying around. It has a slight bend to it as well. I had a quick look at the bulkhead area and all looks good. Previously I had installed a bulkhead brace and an upgraded steering bushing and support.
I also put a piece of rebar...
Hey guys. Tough day on the old M yesterday. Lots a stucks including one that hooked my abs backpack and blew it off. Lol.
So my M8 was super stuck in a thick layer of old snow below some deep pow. It was super trenched. We were rocking it back and forth and then my steering stem bent...
That's awesome. I will inspect my new double row end of this season or during the off season. Hopefully I can put this issue on my sled to rest.

Lol. That's funny. I found the welds on my gear cracked today so I ordered a new one from BDX and it will be made to for the double row 5203 bearing.

Cheers.

Thx for the reply. I am assuming the axle bolt you are talking about is the big one you access through the brake rotor? Your comment about the green loc-tite for retaining the bearing, Thats a good idea, can that stuff be used to fill the gouge like I have next to the gear?
I also would...
Also, 25 and 26 are there as well
Also I believe that when the bearing went years ago (original), when it quit it locked up and spun on the shaft and screwed the shaft up.
That's just me thinking out loud only !!! Lol

Thx for the reply. We may be talking about a different gear. Looking at my pic below, the bearing that fails is #22. The stack up you mention is in item 24. If I am missing something here or not understanding you right please show me the way. lol

Hey guys, I was just doing my preseason DD removal/open up and oil change when the I found the bearing on the end of the splined transfer gear in pieces. It didn't even stay pressed on the shaft. This has happened once before. I use SKF 6203-2RSJ bearing.
So my question and concern is this...
Awesome. I appreciate everyone suggesting ice storm scratchers and they look and sound like they will do a great job, I was wondering if anyone could answer my original question?
Has anyone tried the stacool fly ice scratchers?

Hey guys, I just installed a slp single pipe kit on my 08 m8. I put it on and had the usual pipe contacting the hood melted the intake slightly. I retaped the area and cut down the rubber block that the pipe sits on. It seem ok now but out of curiosity, I know you can install the y pipe upside...
Do a search on here for 09 tunnel conversion. There are many options. Like mentioned, you will need to buy the end cap, 09 cooler or flatten yours, cut the rail edge and weld on the gussets. There is a bit of work involved. Searching will give you tonnes of answer and with pics.
Cheers
My Maraton is bolted with plates that came with the deck when I bought it new and turn buckles. The bolts I have retightened. I have to check again soon. Also my turn buckles I have to tighten occassionally. When I run 2 quads up there the turnbuckles get loose from the weight--Thats why I...
M8 all the way. Had an 05 Rev and while it is a fun machine, the motors are junk..They are both equally fun to ride, just different riding style..All machines ride and handle differently but all will be fun. I like the reliability factor when I am in the backcountry...
