On saturday we unloaded at 42 k. Guys were up aways further closer to 43 unloading as well. Rained to the 48 k mark then turned to snow. Lots of untouched. Was heavy wet snow but rideable. It was good for my last ride of the season. I'll post a picture or two when I get to my computer.
It was great. We went towards fibreglass hill then back tracked to heaven. Overall it was a nice area to explore. We met a couple fellas at the cabin an had a chat about the area. Friendly guys. They informed a member of our group that he had never seen anyone try to climb up into heaven the way...
The ditches and fields by Endeavor are decent. 8" or better in the stubble across from the endeavor turnoff on highway 9. Rode the ditches and a couple trails west of town. Conditions are decent. Also went for a road trip to hudson bay yesterday, ditches look good from the truck.
On the McLean shelter thread the one guy said they took it out from the campground and it's not being placed anywhere else. Crappy to lose another shelter. I heard the one by edenwod was moved due to crops being messed up. I'm always up for a ride if you ever need someone to go with.
Went for a ride from Balgonie to Fort Quappelle yesterday. Trail was grromed earlier in the week but has been blown over with little finger drifts. Most drifts in the ditches are getting hard with the wind and warm weather. We did manage to find some nice fields wih knee deep soft snow in the...
Went for a ride last night around Balgonie. Stubble fields are in great shape. Didn't hit any ski ticklers while going through the field. Most ditches have great drifts and were still some what soft but are getting hard. I didn't venture too far but the groomer has been out if that's your thing...
It's a shame it's gone but there are a few more great shelters east of Balgonie. Hopefully no one pisses off the landowners and we can continue to use these shelters.
Roosters retreat shelter is a good place to stop on the way to the fort(just past intersection of highway 10 & 210). Nice shack but still it was nice to have the McLean shack to pit stop at. The McLean campground is three - four miles west and a mile south of McLean. Kind of out of the way for...
Unconfirmed but I heard it is just out side the McLean campground. I have yet to venture to find it. It was a sad day when it was moved. It used to be one of the pit stops on the way to Fort Qu'Appelle. I heard the gent who owns the land, was having trouble with quadders ripping up his land in...
A big thanks to Ferniesnow and Summit1974 for showing us around the fernie area. Found some excellent snow and tree riding on Saturday. Didn't make it to the notch.
