Smartphone with Gaia or GPSKit app. Hands down. From a professional. Threw away the Garmin years ago. Use it every day for work in the bush in Forest Industry. Don’t waste money on garmin. Just get extra power pack to charge battery.
Cooper Discoverers and Hercules Avalanche. Studded. The best. Buy several 5-6 sets of these every year for bush work. Pizza cutters as skinny as possible. Best ice / compact snow traction tire hands down. Have run many tires over the years. Deep snow = chains. I’m the guy passing you on ice roads!
Way to much overthinking going on on this topic. I have run diesel pickups for 24 years in forest industry, and ran hard in my younger days. 70,000 km + / year. Used a bit of fuel additive back in the early days until my uncle talked some sense into me. He is a heavy duty mechanic. Worked for...
Your truck will look more goofy upside down in the ditch laying on your sleds. My vote goes to cooper discoverer m&s or Hercules Avalanche fully studded. As skinny a tire as possible for the greatest ground pressure and traction. 235/80-17. Tread wear is ok. Traction is maximum. Run 7 trucks...
If you can find a good clean Citation Supreme, you cannot beat the Canadian built quality and true winter rated camper. Furnace heat ducted directly into holding tank area. Solid built. Etc. They were build in Southern BC until 2008. Nice ones show up on occasion and are half the price of new US...

Update: Revelstoke Avalanche
Deepest thoughts go out to the families of these fellow sledders. As someone that went through an avalanche incident and lost my best sledding, atv, fishing, etc. buddy, it is a long road of healing for all involved.
My thoughts are with you all.

Have a look on boondockers site. Looks like the pics there. Very clean. Cant even tell there is a turbo on it till it hits the hill or you lift the hood and point out the turbo where the suitcase used to be, and the intercooler where the airbox used to be. Very quiet with the new muffler...
Rode with Reid and his Turbo M8 RTR build this weekend. It ripped. Didnt want to ride it cause just got my PG TD8 done and back and first real ride.
Very nice, clean job. I know Reid, and he does good work and his sleds work......... Thats it. If you have any doubts, forget about them...
Dr. John in Kelowna just finished mine last weekend and we tuned it on Sunday. Vurtually spot on with little adjustment from the shop. The EBC system is slick once you get it figured out how it is designed to work.
Dr. John has installed 20 - 30 BD turbos in the last three years. He knows...
