I had a chunk of wood stuck in my reed valve that would cause an intermittent issue and cause it to only run on 1 cylinder. Might be worth checking the reeds.
The SLP pipe kit works well on these machines.
I rode an 07 M8 for a few years. I had a BDX Black Boxx intake and a Speedwerx y-pipe, The Thing can. I thought it worked pretty well.
The best upgrade I did was a 2.5" CE track. I would add traction prior to any power adders.
For clutching, you...
A friend had the same symptoms before his fuel pump finally quit. It would run fine then die on the trail and we would have to dump a cap full of fuel in each cylinder then it would go for a little while again.
There is no way I would register a used OHV and pay the tax. 7% or 12% on a $10,000 vehicle would be $700 or $1,200, respectively. I take my chances and the fines so far have never even came close.
I will however buy liability, fire & theft insurance....

I have a set of like new gripper skis if someone wants to purchase. They are on a 2010 M8 right now, not sure what the previous owner had to do to make them fit.
Send me a PM.
What year M1000? I know a guy that ran the black boxx on an 07 and again on an 09. The 07 loved it, the 09 bogged. He also had full SLP exhaust on both machines. Boondocker on the 07 and PCV on the 09.
Checked all connections and applied dielectric grease to start. That didn't fix the problem and everything looked to be dry and in good shape.
Next I cleared the codes in the computer by following directions in the thread below. Problem solved! Still not sure what caused the problem but easy...
I'm scratching my head a little here... normally when I fired up my 07 m8 in the past the headlights would come on very shortly after the sled started running. As of this weekend, the headlights don't turn on right away. I timed it and it now takes 35 seconds after the sled starts.
The wrench...
I've had good luck with these. Not different switches but I haven't killed my sled once by accident since installing these.

Not off hand. I think that the bearing will have the number on it. If not, the part number has everything to do with the size so you can measure. Here is one website to help figure out the bearing p/n.
I've bent a couple posts now too and considered going to the t-post. You probably won't bend your post but make sure you carry an allen wrench around though because you will be tightening the bolts constantly just like the doo boys. The knurl on the steel post gets packed with aluminum the first...
