We went part of the way up today but made the decision to go back as there was two beginners with us (I’ve never been up there before). I’m sure they could have made it but didn’t want to chance it. I want to go back there with some more advanced guys and give it a try one day in the future. Would just like to know how long the access and coming home is or any other tips ppl have.

Based off the snow on the trail and trees I’m betting anyone who goes there will be well rewarded!

Emded up at Boulder and there is snow- off the beaten trail of course.

That was us you were talking to . Super pleased you made the right decision with a Novice group in tow. While Turtle is an amazing place it throws some curve balls to even the most seasoned veterans. It has super high exposure which is the biggest obstacle for a group with limited Avy travel training. 4 Active slide paths to navigate which can remain dormant but we have also seen all 4 go at one point or another.

So for "Decision of the day", I (we) am willing to take you on an all expense ride into the zone on your next visit. Providing you have AST as a basic and your group is able to respect the rules of the mountain. No booze or other things, 4 people max, proper survival gear, etc etc.
Let me know when your out again.

Randy, if you end up setting this up i would love to tag along if i can make it work.
I haven't been in there in a few years now, mostly because i no longer have a riding partner willing to ride that type of zone that i trust. Last time i was in there i took the wife and she wasn't very happy LOL.
It seems most of the guys prefer riding the timber and meadows, kinda bored with that.
