So have been reading through posts and I"m thinking I'm not the only one, but admittedly I've left it sitting stored for the summer without running it at all. First thought was fuel seeped back from the rail so I jumped the fuel pump, seems to run fine, hoping the rail pressure would come...
It's a 2004 Arctic Cat 1M 900 EFI 159".
To pull the clutch, just unbolt and pull off the shaft? Or does it need to be under compression before unbolting?
Afternoon all,
So after a good weekend, seems my driven clutch is slipping a bit. I can get it to reset if someone holds the track off the snow, give it gas to engage the drive clutch and it'll re seat itself. On the odd occasion though it looks like the plates aren't coming together fully to...
Well couldn't find anything locally (without waiting a few weeks to order). Luckily got down to Kalispell and found some aftermarket wheels with the correct 6205s. Going to be a good weekend after all!
A few heavy whacks with a deadblow "fixed" the clutch.
So on a side note, pulled the belt when I was getting towed back to the staging area. When I got back I started it to ride it onto the trailer, but completely forgot to put the belt back on. Revved up over 9000 before I remembered. Shut it down and the primary is seized closed. Any quick...
I'd have to go to BC Bearings (or similar) to find new ones anyway. The stock axle is .787", but when I bought the sled it had a 2 wheel kit on it with a 1" axle. PITA if you ask me. Looking around to see if I can find a used stock assembly (which I'll put new bearings on DEFINITELY) just for...
Went out to Cataract yesterday, had a great time for 5 or 6 hours. Then my idlers decided to kick off their bearings. Getting towed 5k or so to the staging area's obviously trashed them.
Had quite a bit of downtime, was checking out the idlers on my buddy's 2012 M8. Instead of the large...
That sounds like a pretty good plan actually... I'll pull the clutch once I get it home, but even low compression isn't that fixed doing the top end? I've seen top end kits for around $200-250. As long as the cyls aren't gouged or anything. Is that right, or am I way off?
I was thinking that'd be the order of the day. When you say rebuild, do you just mean the top end? Or what bearings etc should I be looking to replace around the crank as well?
Also, seen a bunch of different top end kits, any word on the preferred ones?
Hey all!
Heading out to pick up a sled I purchased, 2004 1M 900 EFI on the 1st. Decided it's time to get my winter sports going to balance my 4x4ing.
Got a great deal on it but it's got around 6000km. It's running strong now, but what are the things I should look out for, or do as...
