Rode renshaw nov 15 and 16 th. The road deactivations certainly do suck. Must be 18 to 25 of them. One in particular was damn near headlight deep (partly cuz u enter at such a steep angle). If u have a low air intake u may want to proceed with caution, buddies kept getting drinks and wet clutches depending how deep they were)
It rained nearly all the way but as soon as you start climbing just before the cabin it just kept getting better and better! Seen any where from 4 feet ( track chucking dirt up) to me up to my nips in by tree wells that I wasn't touching bottom. I'm 6'4 so I'm guessing 6-7 feet deep depending on drifting. It was air pocket city around any sort of trees, kept getting sucked in if u weren't careful. Very worth the trip for us, but seen a few not so lucky, ie: missing a arms and such. Saturday night it was blowing hard, plus 6 in town and pouring rain. If it was snow uptop it would have been awesome, but hard to tell. Rain certainly would reek havoc on the lower portion of trail which was getting pretty thin, but we did ride right from the ticket booth Fri and sat no problem. The two KMS in by truck to the bridge is rough as #$%@.

Feels like there is more than 60 crossings. One part of the road near the bottom was an actual waterfall a couple weeks ago lol

Renshaw is parking at km2. Snow is holding on trail but icy. Lots of deactivations to cross from kp20 on. There’s definitely some snow be found.

What if you are BOTH right.... some parked at 2km and some parked at 12???:smiliestirthepot:

We rode our Bikes from the parking lot of Lucile on Monday and from the parking lot at Bell on Tuesday. Trail up Bell was whooped up pretty bad. Snow was better at Bell then Lucile but it was a lot more tracked. Lucile trail was better. But the snow was pretty crusty. But not near as many tracks. Both were very slim on snow for the first 4-5 K. She is early yet. But scratched the itch and other things lol.

Hotrod in town for the season and setting up the equipment and all the other things that get the season going. But evaluating the situation before any grooming starts, which means there’s not quite enough lower down to get the ball rolling, hopefully the weather forecast holds up and the coming snow is enough to do just that. And I believe there are 27 or 32 deactivations starting at that 20km mark. I counted them once years ago when we did the first groom of the season.

Rode Lucille today. Trail was decent. Icy for the first 3 km’s then pretty good after that. Few whoops for the last km in. Snow up top was good. Few areas wind blown, found some good powder as well. Minimal land mines and no damage. Belle tomorrow, calling for a good reload tonight and tomorrow.

Belle is awesome today. Easy foot of fresh snow everywhere. Trail was well covered with a few open creeks and lots of whoops at the end. Day ended early as one of the sleds broke a jack shaft.
