Trailseeker's Riding Laws in Parkland County

I spoke with an informative Off-Highway Vehicles Officer for Parkland County this afternoon, regarding questions we had about our kids riding at the Trail Seeker's trails.

He pointed out that in addition to the other laws, at Trailseeker's trails:

1. Helmets are mandatory
2. All snowmobiles which are used on these trails must be insured and registered.
3. You must have a Trail Seeker's Pass in order to use the trails.

Provincial, County, Property and Trailseeker laws all come into play here.

As suggested, in order to keep from posting my questions and his answers, which could be taken the wrong way or out of context, it is best to call the County Office directly at 780-968-8400 to talk to the Off-Highway Vehicle Officer if you have any questions.

We are satisfied and no longer confused at all, as to anything we were wondering about. Keep in mind each situation could be different.

I can't emphasize enough the importance of the Trail Pass, its $60 per year and all that money goes right back into our sport.

Of course the Mounties will be more concerned with Registration & Insurance but we as a club want to see those trailpasses, make sure they are displayed so we don't stop you on the trails.

I'm not sure I like the tone of your voice Mr.!! Buy the pass then come sledding around wab and ab. :d:d btw. make sure you don't tow those kids of yours on anything. tis illegal and you will be fined.

$60 per machine per year.

I just have to throw in my two bits......

Magnet and I were talking a couple nights back about trailpasses. It will cost us $240 for our family for passes at Trailseeker's this winter. (In part my doing for wanting to get both of the kids snowmobiles, instead of just one to share).
Anyway, it might seem like alot, but don't be cheap, it is only $60 a machine. For anyone who thinks they don't need to buy a pass, or that it is a waste of money, you really do and it really isn't.
You should see how hard they work to maintain the trails, the time they spend organizing functions, etc so we can feed our Winter addictions. It isn't a cash cow, somehow the bills for the trails have to get paid, so if we're there, we're paying, and you should be too. If you go, you know how much fun they make it for the rest of us.

P.S....
I think the snow fairy is coming before the anticipated 8th of November !!!!!!!
